WEDDINGS | CUSTOM CAKES DESSERT TABLES
WHAT EXACTLY DOES "CUSTOM" MEAN?
At DHD, 'custom' means handcrafted creations made with premium ingredients, never frozen, and always fresh. We avoid pre-made mixes and synthetic fillings to ensure quality in every bite.
How soon should I place my order?
Booking and availability depend on the season. We typically book custom orders two months in advance. For weddings, we recommend inquiring at least 6 to 8 months before your event.
Can I make changes or add to my order?
We are happy to accommodate change requests made at least three (3) weeks before the event date; however, requests received after this period are not guaranteed. Please submit change requests via email to info@DanisHeavenlyBakeshop.com to ensure we have all the details in writing.
WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?
Full payment is due three (3) weeks before your event’s delivery date, and we accept Credit Cards, Apple Pay, Checks, and Money Orders. There is a 4% transaction fee added to all purchases, and we’re happy to provide a 4% discount for payments made by check or money order. If paying by check, please allow 3–5 days for clearance.
WHAT IS YOUR PEAK SEASON?
Memorial Day weekend (last weekend in May) through October 31.
WHEN IS YOUR OFF-PEAK SEASON?
December 1 through March 31.
Do I need to provide the final guest count?
If your cake is part of a package with your venue, we will confirm your guest count with them. If your cake is not part of a package, please provide the final guest count at least four (4) weeks before the event.
Will you deliver to my event?
Yes, we deliver to events in Massachusetts (Southeast/South Shore, Cape Cod, and Boston) and Rhode Island (Providence, Newport, Bristol, and Kent counties).
When will my cake be delivered?
Unless otherwise discussed, we schedule delivery 2 hours before guests arrive at the venue.
Do you provide flowers or cake toppers?
No. You are responsible for ordering any flowers (fresh or artificial) for your cake, and we are happy to place them on the cake for you. Your florist/coordinator/designated person should bring any flowers and your cake topper to the venue, typically the week of the event for the cake topper, and the day before (or the day of) the event for the flowers. Please let us know at least four (4) weeks before your event if your cake topper is heavy and requires support, so we will have time to order or prepare any necessary supplies for proper adjustments. All cake toppers and flowers must be available when we arrive at the venue; if they are not available, we will set up your cake without them. Alternatively, you may have your florist/coordinator add the flowers after the cake is delivered to the venue; just inform them at least four (4) weeks before your event.
Do you provide cake stands?
No, we do not. If you plan to use one, please contact us for your cake size so you can purchase the appropriate stand.
WHAT ARE GROOMS CAKES?
We love making groom’s cakes, which are a colorful counterpart to the wedding cake, reflecting the groom's interests and personality. Traditionally placed at the groom's table during receptions, these cakes can feature themes ranging from favorite breakfast cereals to sports teams. Today, they are often displayed alongside the wedding cake, adding extra excitement to the celebration.
Do you offer cake tastings?
Absolutely! We offer cake tasting boxes with freshly baked cake and fillings, delivered right to your doorstep/preferred location. Book your wedding cake within 72 hours of receiving your box, and the tasting fee will be credited to your order. After tasting, schedule a free phone or virtual consultation to discuss sizing, design, and pricing. Visit our Taste page for more details.
DO YOU offer cake alternatives (dessert table/bar)?
Yes, we offer a variety of scratch-made artisan treats including lemon squares, cupcakes, frosted donuts, pavlova, and more. You can customize your dessert table to match your color scheme or enjoy classic sweets—whatever suits your taste! For more details, check out the 'Small Bites & Confections' section on our website.
What dietary accommodations are available?
We provide a variety of cakes and confections to accommodate vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets. Additionally, our diverse selection also includes liquor-infused cakes and small bite confections.
DO YOU OFFER FAUX TIERS?
Yes! We offer faux tiers! Please visit our Faux Tiers page for details.
What are your store hours?
We specialize in freshly baked, made-to-order cakes and confections and operate exclusively through pre-orders, as we do not have a physical storefront. This approach allows us to dedicate time and attention to each order, ensuring top quality for our clients. Pickup details are provided when your order is placed.

Your Swiss Meringue Buttercream...Is it Like meringue pie?
No, our signature Swiss meringue buttercream (SMB) is not like meringue pie. It gets its name from the meringue-based technique used to make it. Our SMB has an airy, light, whipped cream-like taste and texture that is not too sweet. We're confident you'll love it!
FONDANT. What is it and what does it taste like?
Fondant is a pliable icing used for cake sculpting and achieving a smooth finish. It's often described as a sweet, chewy version of marshmallow. If your cake has fondant and you're concerned guests won’t enjoy the taste, it's easy to peel off and savor the buttercream underneath.
